Turkey’s largest urban rail operator said it is working with SearchInform to analyze internal operations, reduce unnecessary software costs and improve workforce efficiency.
ISTANBUL — Metro Istanbul, Turkey’s largest urban rail operator, has partnered with the cybersecurity software provider SearchInform in an effort to streamline internal operations and improve workforce efficiency across its network.
Operating 235 stations and employing more than 6,000 people, Metro Istanbul serves more than three million passengers daily in one of the world’s most densely populated cities. As part of the initiative, the company deployed the productivity monitoring module of SearchInform’s RiskMonitor platform to assess workload distribution, software usage and broader operational performance.
The system provides end-to-end visibility into employee activity, offering detailed metrics on productivity and application use. It is intended to help managers identify excessive workloads, burnout risks, chronic inefficiencies, uneven task distribution and underutilized corporate resources — enabling such issues to be addressed proactively.
Following a one-month pilot phase, Metro Istanbul said the platform revealed significant opportunities for optimization.
“We are committed to continuously improving our overall performance and service quality. We rely on numerous software tools and applications, and we wanted clear evidence of whether they truly met operational needs.”
— Cihat Yediyıldız, Head of Information Systems, Metro Istanbul
The analysis showed that the company was incurring substantial costs for software licenses that were rarely used. By discontinuing unnecessary programs and licenses, Metro Istanbul achieved notable savings, Mr. Yediyıldız said.
The platform also introduced automated, customizable reporting tools, enabling managers to receive detailed updates on attendance, productivity and other performance indicators based on defined criteria.
“Istanbul is one of the world’s leading metropolitan centers. We are pleased to provide a solution to an institution that plays a vital role in serving more than three million passengers each day.”
— Elena Varol, Business Development Manager, SearchInform Turkey
Ms. Varol said Metro Istanbul required a system capable of delivering measurable, data-driven analysis of internal operations while integrating with existing infrastructure and employee databases. RiskMonitor met those expectations, she added.
She also described the rollout as the first step in a broader collaboration focused on information security and operational stability, arguing that the two are increasingly inseparable for large organizations.
