Havaş, one of Türkiye’s oldest ground handling companies and a subsidiary of TAV Airports, has overhauled its operational infrastructure by adopting SAP S/4HANA as part of a broader digital transformation initiative. The company, which provides ground services to more than 200 airlines worldwide, said the transition has streamlined business processes across its operations in Türkiye and Latvia while improving efficiency and operational speed.
The project, carried out in partnership with SAP Türkiye and the consultancy firm Detaysoft, created a new digital backbone for the company’s operations. By migrating its systems to a modern, cloud-based infrastructure, Havaş consolidated processes that previously ran across multiple platforms and simplified how its services are managed across locations.
The transformation project, called “Rising Havaş,” moved the company’s operational structure onto SAP’s cloud-based platform within roughly one year. Implemented with Detaysoft, SAP’s Platinum and Global partner, the initiative introduced a more integrated and agile enterprise resource planning (ERP) environment.
The new system allows Havaş to manage business processes through a simplified interface while automating a significant portion of operations. The company says the shift to an intelligent ERP system has improved both speed and productivity, enabling a more responsive operational structure.
Mehmet Bozdemir, chief executive of Havaş, described the project as a central step in the company’s long-term technology strategy.
“The Rising Havaş project represents one of the most important strategic steps in our digital transformation journey,” Mr. Bozdemir said. “We have made our operations more visible, measurable and controllable. By simplifying and securing processes from end to end, we are modernizing our current operations while preparing for the future with a strong technological foundation.”
Mr. Bozdemir added that the transformation unified processes across the company’s network, from Türkiye to Latvia, on a single digital platform. The system can now communicate seamlessly with more than 50 non-SAP applications, allowing many operational processes to be managed from a centralized structure.
According to the company, the shift has also improved coordination between teams and enhanced service delivery for airline customers.
As part of the project, all Havaş services were migrated to SAP’s secure cloud infrastructure through Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), creating a more integrated and scalable operational environment.
Human resources operations, including time management, were integrated into the new system, while leasing and property management processes are now handled through SAP’s Real Estate (RE) module. The changes eliminated several manual workflows and improved coordination between departments.
The transformation introduced 13 operational modules and four technical infrastructures, with more than 350 active users now operating within the new system.
Uğur Candan, managing director of SAP Türkiye, said the project represents a notable example of digital transformation within the aviation sector.
“The Rising Havaş project stands out as one of the examples that represents digital maturity in the civil aviation industry,” Mr. Candan said. “Modernizing such a complex and multi-location operation and moving it to a cloud-based structure required a visionary approach. Havaş’s commitment played a decisive role in the success of the project.”
He added that SAP expects the initiative to support Havaş’s future technology investments while contributing to the broader digital development of the aviation sector.
Fatih İnanç, executive vice president of sales at Detaysoft, said the project required a high level of coordination and technical expertise because of its scope and multi-location structure.
“Rising Havaş was a transformation process that demanded strong coordination and specialized expertise,” Mr. İnanç said. “We analyzed Havaş’s operational requirements, integration architecture and sector dynamics in depth before implementing the RISE with SAP transformation package.”
The secure migration of services to the cloud, the integration of multiple systems and the simplification of financial and logistics processes were key elements of the project, he said.
“We are pleased to have helped turn Havaş’s digitalization vision into tangible outcomes,” Mr. İnanç added.
