Paribu’s MENA subsidiary CoinMENA is strengthening its fiat payment infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates through a strategic partnership with UK-headquartered banking group Standard Chartered. The relationship with one of the world's systemically important banks further reinforces the Paribu Group’s institutional standing in the region.
CoinMENA FZE, the United Arab Emirates subsidiary of Türkiye’s leading digital asset platform Paribu, has entered into a strategic partnership with global banking group Standard Chartered to strengthen its fiat payment infrastructure.
Operating as a licensed crypto asset trading platform across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), CoinMENA will hold client fiat assets in safeguarded accounts maintained with Standard Chartered under the agreement. The partnership is designed to streamline fiat deposit processes and enhance CoinMENA’s operational scalability by enabling transaction management through a unified virtual account structure.
The partnership comes at a time when traditional financial institutions and regulated crypto-native platforms are increasingly converging. Standard Chartered, which focuses on Asia, Africa and the Middle East, has active initiatives across digital asset trading, custody, tokenization and stablecoins in the markets where it operates.
With more than US$850 billion in total assets and designated as a Global Systemically Important Bank (G-SIB) by the Financial Stability Board, Standard Chartered is widely recognised as one of the leading global banking institutions. It is also regarded as one of the most ambitious traditional banks in advancing the integration of blockchain technology and financial services.
In this context, the collaboration between CoinMENA and Standard Chartered highlights the financial strength, institutional credibility and regional position of Paribu and its subsidiaries.
Founded in 2020 by Talal Tabbaa and Dina Sam’an, CoinMENA serves more than 1.5 million retail and institutional users across over 45 countries. The company operates under licensed entities in Bahrain through CoinMENA B.S.C. and in Dubai through CoinMENA FZE.
Paribu, which has played a leading role in the development of Türkiye’s blockchain ecosystem since 2017 and has expanded into digital asset custody through its Paribu Custody brand, acquired CoinMENA in December 2025 in what became Türkiye’s largest fintech acquisition to date.
Valued at up to US$240 million, the acquisition provided Paribu with direct access, through CoinMENA’s active licences, to the MENA region, one of the world’s most advanced markets for digital asset adoption.
