ISTANBUL — Two companies within the W Group ecosystem have obtained licences under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) Regulation. The approvals, granted by the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (HANFA) and the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA), reinforce W Group’s strategy of expanding in full compliance with regulatory requirements across Europe and other markets where its companies operate.

Enabling regulated crypto-asset services across Europe

The European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) Regulation establishes a comprehensive regulatory framework for crypto-asset service providers operating across Europe, covering governance, transparency, customer asset protection, and market integrity.

In April 2026, W Group announced that WHITE TECH, a company within its ecosystem, had obtained a MiCA licence from the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (HANFA). The authorization enables WHITE TECH to provide regulated crypto-asset services, including trading, custody, transfers, and administration.

WhiteBIT announced its own MiCA milestone on 19 June. According to the company, WB-Shield Innovations GmbH, operating under the WhiteBIT EU brand, received authorization under MiCA from the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA), marking another important step in W Group’s European growth strategy.

Through the EU passporting framework, which allows regulated firms to provide services across the European Economic Area (EEA) from a single licensed jurisdiction, WhiteBIT EU will be able to offer regulated crypto-asset services throughout the EEA via a dedicated platform developed specifically for European users.

“Europe remains at the centre of our long-term vision”

Commenting on the new licences, Volodymyr Nosov, Founder and President of W Group, said:

“Europe remains at the centre of WhiteBIT’s long-term growth vision. Receiving authorization under the MiCA framework supports our commitment to providing European users with a more transparent, secure, and compliance-driven crypto experience. Companies within the W Group ecosystem continue to expand across Europe and other markets through a regulation-focused approach.”

Founded in 2018, WhiteBIT is now part of the W Group ecosystem. The company has established long-term partnerships with global brands and sports organizations including Visa, FACEIT, FC Barcelona, Juventus, and the Ukraine National Football Team, while continuing its international expansion through a compliance-focused strategy.

Among the first platforms to complete Türkiye’s preliminary licensing process

WhiteBIT TR launched its operations in Türkiye in April 2024 and reached 100,000 active users within its first six months. Today, the platform offers more than 580 trading pairs, over 350 digital assets, and free Turkish lira deposits and withdrawals.

WhiteBIT TR was also among the first crypto platforms to complete the preliminary application process to become an authorized crypto-asset service provider under the framework established by Türkiye’s Capital Markets Board (SPK).

Operating under the legal entity Whitebit Kripto Varlık Alım Satım Platformu A.Ş., which is currently listed on the SPK’s List of Active Institutions, WhiteBIT TR continues to bring W Group’s compliance-led growth strategy and digital asset services to the Turkish market while representing the Group’s global presence in Türkiye.
