Group founded in Vienna in 1993 receives international recognition for its human resources practices

Austria, Vienna - BALFIN Group, the investment group founded in Vienna in 1993 by entrepreneur Samir Mane, has been certified as a “Top Employer 2026” by Top Employers Institute, the global authority on recognising excellence in people management and human resources development practices. What began as a small trading business between Vienna and Tirana has grown into a diversified group active in banking, real estate, retail, hospitality, fintech, education, asset management, logistics, etc. across 12 countries and two continents. In recent years, BALFIN has expanded its presence in Vienna itself, including the acquisition of the former Austrian Federal Railways headquarters building and continued investment in residential and mixed-use real estate projects across the city.

The Certification is awarded only to organisations that undergo and successfully pass a rigorous, independent audit process, which evaluates in depth their practices across areas such as HR strategy, talent development, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion.

The significance of this recognition lies precisely in its nature as an independent, international standard that reveals where a company truly stands in terms of human resources management. The Certification represents an objective verification against the highest global benchmarks for employee treatment and development. The “Top Employer 2026” Certification demonstrates BALFIN Group’s ability to create a high-performing workplace through strategies built on strong employee support. This recognition confirms that BALFIN Group’s human resources management standards are on par with those of the world’s best organisations.

According to BALFIN Group’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Elvin Nosi, the Certification is not the result of a new initiative, but rather the formalisation of a body of work and a culture built over many years.

“Attracting, developing and retaining talent is one of the greatest challenges for any organisation today. At BALFIN, this has been a priority for many years,” says Nosi. “The ability to move across the industries and countries in which we operate is one of our greatest strengths. The Top Employer Certification is, above all, a confirmation for us that investing in people and creating opportunities for growth remains the right path forward.”

Operating across 12 countries and in diverse sectors such as retail, banking, real estate development, hospitality, education, fintech, asset management, among others, BALFIN offers its employees something few business organisations can: the opportunity to build cross-industry and cross-border careers within the same Group.

Adrian Seligman, CEO of Top Employers Institute, commented: “Achieving the Top Employer Certification for 2026 reflects BALFIN Group’s dedication to building an outstanding workplace that enables sustained business performance. Their strong alignment between people strategy and organisational goals, combined with a commitment to continuous improvement, demonstrates the impact of the Group’s transformative practices. We are proud to recognise BALFIN Group for its meaningful contribution to a better world of work.”

Today, BALFIN Group operates in 12 countries across two continents, active in banking, real estate, retail, hospitality, asset management, fintech, education and other sectors. Each sector interacts with and reinforces the others, turning diversification into a driver of growth rather than mere scale. With a consolidated EBITDA of €163 million and a workforce of approximately 5,500 professionals, BALFIN Group combines financial stability with a long-term commitment to innovation, ethics and social impact, channelled through the Mane Foundation since 2023.
